15 Years of Back and Leg Pain Relieved with HFX
Michael was a senior in high school in 1970 when he first began experiencing hip and leg pain that led to a series of back surgeries over a period of four decades.
While Michael did have periods of relief that lasted for as long as 15 years, by 2012 his back pain was unrelenting once again.
Following back surgery that year that failed to relieve his pain Michael was referred to Dr. Leo Kapural. “The years of injections that followed really didn’t help me,” Michael recalled. “Then in 2017 Dr. Kapural suggested an HFX trial.”
“With the implant, I consistently have 80% pain relief.”
Nevro’s HFX provided significant pain relief during the trial and Michael received his implant in July 2017. “With the implant, I consistently have 80% pain relief,” Michael said.
Previously a self-described “very active person” until pain derailed his activities, Michael enjoyed playing baseball and basketball, bowling, track, and golf. “Golf was my favorite and I thought I’d be able to play it my entire life,” Michael explained. “Now that my pain is under control, I have hope that I will play again.”
