For Mary Lynn, HFX “has been a miracle.”
Twelve years of unrelenting back pain drove Mary Lynn to a low point in her life.
She had tried a long list of treatments including acupuncture, prolotherapy, massage, medication, PT, orthotics, a specialized bed, hydrotherapy, infrared energy therapy, ice, heat, facet join injections, medial branch blocks and a traditional spinal cord stimulator, none of which provided lasting relief
“Pain not only restricted my social life but I couldn’t sit for long,” Mary Lynn recalled.
“When I wasn’t at work, I was stuck lying on the couch and gained 50 pounds. I was taking so many drugs that I barely drove my new car.” A seat cushion was her constant companion because she used it for comfort any time she had to sit.

Life improved dramatically after Dr. Peter Kubitz recommended an HFX trial in December 2015.
Since getting her implant in March 2016, Mary Lynn has a social life again, walks her dogs, has ditched the seat cushion, stopped taking pain medication and lost 25 pounds.
“I have been retired for five years but I am feeling so good that I even plan to go back to substitute teaching.”
